When is the best time for landscaping?

Landscaping can be done at any time, throughout the year. There is no specific time or season that is best for landscaping. Every season has its own advantages and disadvantages. Landscaping in the summer is excellent for new growth, but transplanting and planting of fragile plants in high temperatures will lead to unnecessary stress which will set back the growth of the plant. Landscaping in the winter is excellent for your new garden to get settled in and establish itself, as a garden landscaped during the winter months outperforms a garden landscaped in spring. There is always the possibility that frost may damage your more fragile plants, however, our landscapers will do their utmost to ensure that you reap only the best of what each season provides.

The average lifespan of a garden is between seven to ten years, depending on what type of garden you have and how much care and time you put into it. There is no need to fertilize your newly installed garden. During the installation process your garden will receive the correct amount of fertilizer to last for the upcoming growing season. Thereafter, it’s best to fertilize your garden annually, and the end of winter is generally considered to be the best time. This will give your garden the boost it needs to perform throughout the growing season.

Can I use compost on my lawn to make it green?

The best way to feed your lawn is to use a good organic fertilizer as well as a thin layer of lawn dressing which is comprised of fine milled compost mixed with river sand and never applied thicker than the blades of grass. This should all be followed by plenty of water to ensure fast and healthy growth. Applying only compost will have a negative effect to your lawn as it will burn your lawn rather than improving its condition.

Why does my lawn have brown/dead patches?

This could be due to a range of circumstances, time of year, various pests like lawn cricket or root feeding worms and fungal infections

How often should I mow my lawn?

Depending on the type of lawnmower you use and the type of lawn you have. Fast growing and very healthy lawns need to be moved once to twice a week in summer. In winter this can be trimmed down to once every two to three weeks, depending on the growth and type.

Can you visit my new garden afterwards to see if I am maintaining it right?

Yes, we do have a wide range of maintenance packages and we can compile a package to suit your specific needs.
